B.1. Understanding of integrated and sustainable urban development:
In the last three years through Fondazione Giacomo Brodolini I have been supporting the URBACT Secretariat in the Capitalisation and Dissemination activities. This experience gave me the opportunity to deepen my knowledge of EU wide processes for supporting city level policy making on a variety of urban challenges related to integrated and sustainable urban development. My current role at Fondazione Brodolini as Head of Learning and Innovation implies working with municipalities in designing and implementing city level policies related to innovation and co-production of community led solutions and services on a wide set of city challenges: youth employment, economic development, smart and green city, urban regeneration, re-use of public spaces. At present I am overseeing development and management of four centres for Open and Social Innovation in three cities in Italy with the mission to accelerate the urban local ecosystems for social innovation and connect those local ecosystems transnationally. In Milan I am working on FabriQ, the first Italian Social Innovation Incubator, devoted to incubate social enterprises, and MHUMA – Milan HUb for MAkers, an R&D laboratory and education centre for the application of digital manufacturing to social innovation. In Turin I am coordinating Open INCET – Open INnovation CEnter Torino, a centre offering services to public Institutions and private organisations to help them pilot innovations and grow internationally.
B.2. Understanding of exchange and learning processes at transnational level:
I have been working on exchange and learning processes, mostly at transnational level, for almost 20 years. In my capacity as President for Italy and Project Manager for the International Secretariat of AIESEC (the largest global student-run Association at the time) I have designed and managed learning processes for groups from the tens to the hundreds, both off line and on line, on idea generation and project development on issues such as corporate social responsibility, sustainability, international cooperation, youth empowerment and leadership, stakeholders engagement, partnership building etc.
In my capacity as Senior Manager in charge of corporate sustainability for the PricewaterhouseCoopers Global Office, I have designed and managed learning, community building and stakeholders’ engagement processes both internally and externally for the corporation in a variety of countries and regions globally.
In my role as training and facilitating professional, both as a freelance and as entrepreneur, I have designed, managed and delivered hundreds of sessions in around 35 countries in the five continents mostly on innovation and other transversal soft skills.
In my current role at Fondazione Giacomo Brodolini I design and manage on a daily basis both partners’ and stakeholders’ engagement processes involving public and private actors at both city and regional level in order to support their social innovation work.
