RE-Block Final Partner-Level Dissemination Event in Komotini

The purpose of the event was two-fold. First of all, the results of project RE-Block were presented in three sessions. The first session, presented by Mr Lepidas, Project Manager, concerned the general outcomes of the project RE-Block. Specifically, Mr Lepidas presented the main activities of the project, namely the methodology of the ULSG, the feedback from the Peer Review Meetings, some words about the Local Action Plan and the Spin-Off Project. Then he gave the floor to Mrs Passou and Mrs Tsatsikou, both employees of the Municipality of Komotini, members of the LSG, who presented the Local Action Plan from the standpoint of the physical environment as well as the social inclusion. Mrs Passou presented the regeneration work that has already been concluded in the pilot area in the framework of Urban Programme, while she introduced the short and long term plans of the Municipality in the area, as they were drafted in the Local Action Plan. Mrs Tsatsikou, on the other hand focused on the social programme of the Municipality highlighting the Roma issue and the resettlement project of the Municipality, which will take place in the next years. 

Secondly, the Municipality of Komotini went on with a debate concerning its strategic planning for the programming period 2014-2020. Mr Gartsonis, Mayor’s Special Advisor, introduced the audience to the main points of the new Operational Plan of the Municipality of Komotini, analyzing the main axes and going through the principal activities, which were very well identified and described in the RE-Block Local Action Plan. The Municipality officials had the chance to have a constructive dialogue with the few citizens that were present. However, they very much agreed to continue the debate in a series of activities organized by the Municipality of Komotini in the framework of drafting the Operational Plan of the Municipality of Komotini for the next years.
