The OPEN DAYS 2014 will be held under the slogan 'Growing together – Smart investment for people'.

URBACT is actively involved in the event with workshops, speakers and a special side event for the URBACT Community!

Building stakeholder capacity in Europe’s cities
Cities are in the spotlight and there is huge pressure on most people working for our public authorities. They are expected to do more with less; to be more innovative; but at the same time to avoid making mistakes. In many places the role of public officials is being rewired as local partnerships evolve.  This URBACT workshop will focus on practical tools for supporting city stakeholders. It will include the voices of varied stakeholders, with experience of URBACT’s capacity building activities. We will hear about stakeholder capacity needs, the support provided and how the lessons have been applied at home.
Target audience: - EU, national, regional and local policy/decision makers - Authorities managing and evaluating cohesion policy programmes and projects - Other stakeholders: private companies, financial institutions, European and national associations - Academics, students and researchers

This workshop will explore the new features of the programmes for 2014-2020 and will present how potential partners (cities, regions, research bodies, public and private stakeholders, and other ESIF programmes) can participate in and benefit from the networking, evidence, exchange and learning, capacity-building, research and capitalization activities which will be developed by the four European Territorial Cooperation Programmes.
