Local Support Group meetings

On the 17th of December 2009 the Province of Gelderland organized a working session on the theme Sustainable Environment. Almost twenty possible projects were discussed in relation to a better and more effective EU-funding. The projects ranged from local energy plants (biomass, algae), to the use of photo electric cells in district development, underground cold-warmth storage and new uses for ICT-applications for working at home.

On the 13th of January a meeting was organized on the theme of Urban Development: Innovation and Creativity in which a possible ten projects were discussed to renovate old factory buildings in declined city areas and to make them accessible for new small companies in creative sectors (architects, photo studios, fashion design, etc.).

Both meetings were attended by in total over 40 officials from the cities in Gelderland (Arnhem, Nijmegen, Apeldoorn, Doetinchem, Ede, Wageningen, Harderwijk, Zutphen, and Tiel), together with officials from several  departments of the Managing Authority, the Province of Gelderland (departments of economic affairs, environment, inner-city development, European projects).
