"The European Regional Champion Awards unite Europe in celebrating achievement in all its regions by highlighting the best programmes and projects. Nominations are open to any region, city or town in the Europe Union. Nominations should be made by the regional offices based in Brussels or the European and national associations of local and regional authorities. The timeline is as follows: Monday 9th June 2008 – Nominations open to all Friday 11th July – Nominations close Monday 22nd September 2008 – Shortlist announced and voting opens to all members of the Committee of the Regions Friday 24th October 2008 – Voting closes The awards ceremony will take place on Wednesday, 19th November 2008 at The Committee of the Regions Head Office in Brussels and will be attend by senior figures from the CoR, the European Parliament and the European Commission.
