Sharing Knowledge and Expertise? “We Are Doing Just that with CSI Europe!”
Edited on
05 February 2015This answer was given by Sir Richard Leese, Leader of Manchester City Council, to Commissioner’s Hahn observation about the importance for cities like Manchester to share their expertise across other Member States.
Commissioner Johannes Hahn was Manchester on 27 February to visit the site of the future National Graphene Institute, a project that benefited from an EU contribution of EUR 29.5 million from the ERDF has also been awarded the Graphene Flagship by the EC.
The visit was also the opportunity to discuss about Financial Engineering Instruments and their importance for EU cities. Sir Richard Leese mentioned CSI Europe, the URBACT project that has Manchester as Lead Partner, several times, giving it also as an example for how important the EC funded programme, Financial Engineering Instruments and transnational collaboration were to the city.
Once more we see that participating in URBACT is a reason to be proud of for learning and giving cities alike. Thank you, Sir Richard Leese!
