Amaroussion

The Municipality of Amaroussion has to be further modernized in order to be able to respond to the needs of its citizens due to the constant increase in the number of its residents, to the number of employees working within the city’s boundaries, to the hospitals that are based in the city and provide services to hundreds of people everyday as well due to the large number of vehicles and people/ visitors passing through the municipality’s main road arteries. 

Therefore, the basic development scheme must be composed of specific measures and actions that will deal with the overall benefit of the city and its inhabitants.  The challenge for the Municipality would be the definition of the required conditions in order to connect its metropolitan character with its suburban profile which is accompanied by a high quality of life for its citizens. These actions should include the following:

• appropriate traffic arrangements,
• appropriate parking arrangements under the city,
• adjustments for environmental protection and development of green spaces,
• support actions, acting as a rival pole of supralocal operation, for maintaining the suburban character of the city
• development actions, for the economic growth of the region, for reducing unemployment rates, for reinforcing the commercial activities
• development and implementation of qualitative services with the use of innovation as a basic tool for the improvement of effectiveness in the service of the citizen
• Improvement of the environmental picture of city, measures for the protection of the environment, new energy standard, better quality of life
• Improvement of all indicators of prosperity and social protection and solidarity
