The Polish town of Malbork (40.000 inhabitants) is inviting the KAIRÓS partners to a study visit. The brand Malbork is known for its impressive Teutonic castle - declared UNESCO World Heritage and is one of the most visited sites in Poland.
The KAIRÓS partners will also be given the opportunity to visit the city of Gdansk (450.000 inhabitants), the main seaport of Poland and known for its rich cultural heritage from the times of the Hanseatic League which was restored after the destruction of World War II.
The study visit has the following main objectives:
- how to rethink heritage valorisation projects beyond the castle (in the case of Malbork)?
- learning about the Gdansk way of civic empowerment
- how to manage the old town district of Gdasnk from a sustainable development perspective?
- how to preserve and even capitalise collective living urban memory?
