With seniors about revitalization
Edited on
06 June 2019On May 12th began the "Senioralia of Łódź" - a series of events addressed to the oldest residents of the city. The event was attended by ULG members who wanted to convince senior citizens that everyone, regardless of age, can influence the changes taking place in urban space and encourage them to participate in social revitalisation programmes addressed to their age group.
The inauguration of "Senioralia", one of the biggest urban events in Łódź, is a great opportunity to talk to the residents of the city about the revitalization process and present the activities of the URBAN-REGENERATION-MIX project. It is also a day when you can meet in one place senior citizens, who are the most involved in the social and cultural life of the city. ULG members, active on the stand of the Revitalization Bureau, prepared a number of attractions, which could be attended by both adult residents and often accompanying grandchildren. All those willing could play a board game specially produced for revitalization - " Green bicycle through Łódź", face an art challenge related to the choice of colors for the facades of tenement houses and learn many interesting facts about revitalized areas. It was also an opportunity to talk about the current renovation works in the area. The presence of lighthouse keepers and hosts was also conducive to individual conversations with residents of the revitalised areas who need help and support. Seniors were also eager to hear about trainings and workshops aimed at their age group. Particularly interesting was the newly initiated project of free language courses - "Swim in the sea of languages" - addressed to residents of the revitalization area or people transferred in connection with the implementation of the revitalization process who are over 50 years old.
