The project may promote a profitable exchange between local authorities, citizens, educational institutions and the private sector, supporting the social economy and the sustainable tourist development in these areas to foster local employment, social inclusion and cohesion, as well as the accomplishment of the 11th SDG.

Degradated urban areas are important resources from the economic, social, environmental and cultural point of view and it is fundamental to protect, develop and rethink them in order to benefit the whole community in a sustainable way in the long term. The intervention in highly potential touristic areas is not only an opportunity for the creation of new jobs, but also an important chance to transform degraded areas into places where cultural and social exchange & inclusion can be fostered.
Indeed, KAIRÓS will answer the needs for the development of urban regeneration actions where social, cultural and economic matters become integrated in order to provide a joint solution and contribute to sustainable development of the local community.

KAIRÓS is searching for partner cities that share its vision to enhance social inclusion and economic development thorugh cultural heritage and its public spaces.
