Useful Information
In La Rochelle Urban Community the building sector represents 47% energy consumption and 24% GHG emissions.
The energy renovation of the housing stock represents an important issue that would contribute to reaching La Rochelle Urban Community Zero Carbon Target by 2040.
The expected effort is largely based on homeowners or lessors of principal residences, since these represent 92% of the residential stock.
Today, 500 houses/year are energetically renovated, but this number should be increased to 2,000 successful renovations/year (“successful” meaning to improve by at least 40% the performance of the building after works).
What is needed to Improve the level of energy performance of private housing is to ease the refurbishment process for homeowners or lessors by simplifying the whole final beneficiaries journey. Indeed, they are today confronted to:
-too many technical elements,-too many stakeholders who don’t talk to each other,-cumbersome, repetitive and often lengthy administrative procedures,-poorly readable and under-used financial aids,-projects implemented without any global vision.
The result of this situation is: -too many unfinished projects,-discouraged users,-unutilised financing,-low performance levels after works.
One part of the solution lies in offering to targeted audience an integrated home renovation service (‘one-stop shop’) including: awareness raising, technical support to choose renovation options, materials used and skilled professionals, etc.
