Great news! International magazine Volume has made a special inlay on the sub>urban. Reinventing the fringe network. Read the digital version of the magazine here. Or come and claim your copy at our final event in Barcelona on April 26 - 27. You can still register to join us.

‘The Fringe’ – it sounds like the title of a
horror movie. You’re not quite sure what
to expect, but there is this eerie feel to it. If
this is the indication of a location, it doesn’t
sound inviting. Maybe that is the main problem
with urban areas summarized as ‘fringe’
in this report: they’re not necessarily scary or
creepy, but they’re unloved — possibly even
by those that live or work there. by Arjen Oosterman, Editor in Chief of Volume

The inlay of Volume 'Are you working on your fringe?' shares insight from all of the sub>urban partner cities: Antwerp, Baia Mare, Barcelona, Solin, Casoria, Oslo, Vienna, Brno and Düsseldorf. It is therefore a very unique and special edition and brings the news right from the centre of European cities. It is not a theoretical framework, but presents real actions and recommendations from the project sites. Editor in Chief of Volume - Arjen Oosterman - turned all of these stories into one, coming together in his editorial: 'City making in transition'.

1.000 copies on "Are you working on the fringe?" are now available in Magazine stores internationally. A perfect opportunity to let everyone know that the next big developments in urban planning will take place in the fringe areas of our metropolitan cities. The inlay reveals all of the networks results on transforming planning, intensifying use, social inclusion, relation with the region and transforming private space. It identifies big challenges and proposes solutions.

Start reading and let us know what you think about it via Twitter @suburbanfringe. If you want to collect your copy in print, register for our final meeting in Barcelona from April 26-27.
