"An INTERACT conference entitled "Demonstrating the Benefits of European Territorial Cooperation" will be held in Bratislava on 23 and 24 March 2009."

"The conference will focus on INTERACT support to evaluation, monitoring and communication of European Territorial Cooperation programmes, and will have a varied format, with presentations by leading figures in the field and a series of thematic workshops, to allow attendees to engage with what is most relevant to them. This event will build towards an agreement on how programmes, the Commission and INTERACT can work together to ensure that we have the best possible evidence of what the projects are achieving. It is a chance to hear different views but also to make your own contribution and shape the future direction of this work. Opportunities will be provided for participants to share their thoughts on the successes and lessons of INTERREG, and well as to reflect on current issues and look towards the future of European Territorial Cooperation. The event is aimed at a range of programme staff working with monitoring, evaluation, project support and communication. It is important that participants have sufficient expertise to reflect and comment on existing monitoring and evaluation within the programme and how these might be harmonised with wider initiatives.
