B.1. Understanding of integrated and sustainable urban development:
I have been around the collaborative economy for more than 10 years participating in researchs about how collaborative practices could benefit the creation of value and exchange among participants of an ecosystem, working with the European Commission, IDB and some local governments in regulating and promoting collaborative initiatives in cities around the globe. A collaborative economy is in its roots sustainable since is based on idle resources exchange, swap and/or rent. Cities are the perfect space for collaborative practices and exchange promoting sustainable habits. What it is called Sharing Cities. There is a huge opportunity in networked/platform strategies, where individuals and organizations could relate directly to obtain what they need changing the way we produce and consume, promoting sustainable practices aligned with nature needs. In the last 2 years, I have been studying regenerative design and platform design intersections. My fascination for both topics led me to start running a series of interviews with experts in the field and participate in global forums and events in order to go deeper into understanding their confluence. Regeneration is a step beyond sustainability, it's not just about sustaining what we have for future generations use it's about regenerating, renewing and restoring damaged ecosystems or as a principle of design. Together is building the next generation of platforms for the benefit of all parts contributing to the triple bottom line.
B.2. Understanding of exchange and learning processes at transnational level:
I am part of an independent, global and distributed organization since 2014. I am used to working in digital environments since then, using tools that allow us to make decisions and work as a distributed team.
I have managed hundreds of transnational projects in applying methodologies, giving lectures and conferences with a diverse range of people and organizations creating the right conditions for collaboration and knowledge exchange.
B.3. Proficiency in English:
Please refer to the links about the conference I gave, most of them are in English.
Since I work and collaborate with international companies my language at work has been English since a long time ago. I also talk Italian, Catalan and French.
Expertise for the design and delivery of transnational exchange and learning activities:
Thematic expertise:
Theme / Policy:
Entrepreneurship and competitive SMEs
Summary Thematic expertise:
I have a long experience in teaching and giving conferences in the entrepreneurship and innovation field having taught in different universities and business schools in the last 10 years and acting as a mentor within different entrepreneurship schools and organizations.
I accompanied in the process of ideation, design and implementation to several public and private organizations during the course of my career. Being recognized for my expertise in the Platform Economy and business model innovation.
Expertise support to local authorities and other stakeholders in designing & delivering integrated and participatory policies
E.1. Knowledge on participatory methods and tools for co-production and implementation of local polices :
I know very well some of the tools for participatory decisions in cities like Decidim in Barcelona, a tool to run participatory budgeting, make decisions about things impacting citizens in a determinate neighbour, or understand which are the priorities for some collective.
I have been using others in OuiShare, the network I am part of, to decide for example where (tasks) we will allocate some money, use the brand, design our values, and make decisions in a group of distributed people around the globe.
I run several workshop looking for specific outcomes within individuals and organizations with the IDB, UNDP and some local governments.
E.2. Knowledge on integrated approach for the design, delivering, monitoring and evaluation of urban strategies/policies:
Based on each outcome the group want to achieve we can design different types of co-creation workshop and determine with the group what would be the best indicators to measure the strategy designed. Quantitative but also qualitative. Depending on the group, context, the outcome I tend to design specifically, ad-hoc, for achieving the goal.
E.3. Awareness of the main policy and funding schemes for sustainable urban development at EU and national level:
I know the EU funding schemes and also a lot of projects that can inspire new policies.
E.4. Ability to understand specific local situations and adapt tools and content to different local realities:
This is the approach of the sustainability I work with, in regenerative design one of the main principles is "Place Based" Because nobody can design the right policy for a context, territory, culture, people, story we don't know, we need to involve the local people in the process of co-creation and adapt the available tools in the market to each context.
