Forli
The town of Forlì is situated in the north of Italy, in the Province Forlì-Cesena, within the valley of the Po River, 5 kilometres from the earliest hillside of Tuscan-Romagna Apennine and about 26 kilometres from the Adriatic See. About 12% of the population of the city are non-Italians, the migrants came especially from Romania, Albania, China, Morocco and Ukraine. The productive structure of the territory, based mainly on medium-small businesses and artisans operating in the various fields, is distinguished by widespread entrepreneurship and a high number of cooperative enterprises. Main sectors: mechanics, nautical, upholstered furniture, services and commerce. Despite that the economic crisis has affected the whole territory, the city of Forlì maintains a good level in terms of quality of life. Moreover, during the last years Forlì ranked among first cities in Italy for quality of life and well-being (an index weighting social, economic, environmental, relational indicators). The Municipality of Forlì takes care of the interests of the local community promoting policies aimed at improving social conditions and overall quality of life. Regarding the recent governance structure of the social services, there are 48 Healthcare Districts in Emilia Romagna. The Forlì District (ca. 180 000 people) consists of the city of Forlì and 14 other smaller municipalities. The city of Forlì was divided into five "blocks" (areas with common structural elements) in which participatory planning was experienced.
