Final ULG meeting and Open Days in Šibenik by the Šibenik team

22 July 2022On 10 June 2022 a final ULG meeting was held at the premises of the Urban Center in Šibenik dealing with the topic of „Encouraging the practice of active participation of citizens in the preservation of heritage“. The focus of the discussions was how to actively involve citizens in these processes.
It was decided that it is necessary to identify obstacles in the active participation of citizens and propose adequate solutions, evaluate existing practices of citizens' participation in the management of cultural heritage, adapt existing activities to improve citizen participation, and implement new participatory approaches. The importance of citizens' participation in the processes of preserving and revitalising cultural heritage is crucial, and experiences during the implementation of the KAIRÓS project have shown a great will of citizens for active participation. The KAIRÓS partners also recalled the significant project achievements during these three years.
At the beginning of July, the city organised another KAIRÓS Open Day event in the old city centre of Šibenik.
The goal was to make citizens aware and encourage communication in order to easily include them in the project and to present quality ways of using open spaces that are part uf the cultural heritage of the old city centre. A performance of the children's play "Forest" in cooperation with the Croatian National Theater and an arts & craft exhibition of the Šibenik creatives "Summer kitchen" were organised. In cooperation with the association Kolektiv 4B, 27 local artists presented themselves in an exhibition in the open space of the old city centre and included artistic paintings, graphics and photographs as well as sculptures, installations, jewelry, decorations and unique items for everyday use.
