Final Meeting in Gliwice

The final meeting of FIN-URB-ACT took place on 14th and 15th March 2011 in the partcer city Gliwice/PL. The Project partners together with actors from the LSGs, MAs and further interessed actors from the Region Silesia come together in Gliwice to disscuss the added values of the FIN-URB-ACT Project.

The final meeting started with a welcome adress presented by Mr. Adam Neuman, Deputy of the President of Gliwice and the Lead Partner Aachen. In plenary session the partner City Gliwce presented their local action plan. Afterwards all partner cities presented their outcomes of the project, the difficulties that they had and the expectation for the future.

 In the second part of the final meeting we had a panel discussion with the cities of Linz, Reims, Aachen, Rome, Maribor, Aveiro, Leipzig, Gliwice and Galati. In plenary session we discussed the added values of the project, the used methodologies,  the key of success was defined and recommendations for the future were formulated. During the discussion additional questions arise: Is an added value to build city partnership with equal partners?; Does all LSG members benefit from the exchange?; Was the EU label an added value for the project?

The final meeting was used also as an dissemination event to Polish national and regional steakholders and decision makers on SME support instruments and support programmes. All particpants presented and discuss the added values of FIN-URB-ACT for each cities and how this networking approach can be used to establish exchange activities on future topics concerning urban economic development.
