The EU partners of the "Find Your Greatness" project "tasted" the virtues of Candelaria

10 May 2022'Find Your Greatness' project: fifteen representatives of EU cities participated in the Transnational Meeting held by Candelaria, 3-5 May 2022.
Between 3 and 5 May 2022, Villa Mariana in Candelaria welcomed the members of the "Find Your Greatness" URBACT project, coming from different cities in Romania, Poland, Ireland, Italy, Hungary, Estonia, and Portugal. The purpose of this transnational meeting was to continue working on the development of effective and sustainable solutions to the main challenges faced by each city, and sharing their best practices and experiences related to city branding and smart city direction of development.
The Mayoress of Candelaria, Mari Brito, received the team in the Plenary Hall of the Town Hall to thank them for their visit and to explain the valuable exchange of values and approaches that brings Candelaria to be in close contact with these countries combining the strategic marketing approach with innovative smart city tools.
Since their arrival, the partners discovered different enclaves of the municipality by visiting places and taking part in organized activities, such as the Technology Centre of Candelaria (CTCAN), the Rural Centre of Candelaria La Caseta, and the Pottery Centre Casa Las Miquelas. The Basilica of Candelaria and the convent, the Achbinico cave, the nucleus of Santa Ana, and many details about the religious culture around the Patron Saint of the Canary Islands were presented in order to get to know the greatness of Candelaria.
The partners had the occasion to get to know the midlands of the town, visiting "Finca de Las Haciendas in Araya". A tour of "El Rebusco Bodegas" was also organized, to showcase the "Club del Producto Local de Candelaria", and the municipality's agri-food activities.
The rest of the workdays was dedicated to the project's Integrated Action Plan discussions, with the Lead Expert Janez Sirse, and the representatives of the cities involved in the project.
