The Local Support Group of Edinburgh met on May 26th and developed the two key areas to focus on as part of the Urbact Active Age programme.
The topics that were discussed are the following:
- the promotion of flexible working arrangements for older people within the public, commercial and voluntary/ community sectors;
- the creation of co-operatives and social firms for the employment of older people;
- the support to employability strategies taking into account the opinions, the needs and the wishes of older people;
- pre-retirement issues for both employees and employers;
- re-skilling plan;
- Elderly workforce offer through Edinburgh’s Joined Up for Jobs strategy.
