Julien Labat has been awarded the "Trophée des Eco-Maires" (Eco-Mayor Trophy) for his work for the URBACT project LINKS in the city of Bayonne (France) entitled: "Something New for the Old Districts: Factor 4 Proof Historic Centres".

Julien Labat produced an extensive paper downloadable (French version only, an English version will come soon). The synthesis document is viewable (French version only, an English version will come soon). His work provides an assessment of the performance of eco-restoration solutions in historic city centres. His analysis covers a complete representative panel of buildings found in historic city centres.

Julien will receive his award this week from Claude Bartolone, Chairman of the National Assembly, and former Minister in charge of cities in France (1998–2002).

His works will provide useful tools to support the decision of renovating traditional buildings. Primarily focused on the city of Bayonne, the thorough analysis can provide helpful insight to many other cities centres in Europe, facing the very same challenges.
