The traineeship organized by University of Naples Federico II (ULSG member) on "URBACT II, the cruise tourism from the port to the city, a local development project for the lower city of Naples ", closed its works.

On 30th September 2010 the 2nd edition of the traineeship on "URBACT II, the cruise tourism from the port to the city, a local development project for the lower city (città bassa) of Naples ", closed its works with the final presentation of the students.

The training course, organized by the President of the Architecture Degree course (Professor Roberta Amirante) - Faculty of Architecture of the University of Naples Federico II, in collaboration with the City of Naples, involved about 70 students attending the last year of Degree course.
It consisted of lectures, workshops, classroom activities, reviews with tutors and teachers and on 15th October the students presented their works to the members of Naples Local Support Group.

The first edition of the training focused on possible crossing of cruise passengers within the port and from the city to the port.
This year the planning theme focused specifically on the main square of the lower city, “Piazza Mercato”,  to offer a number of possible interpretations of the role that today could take the square within the lower city even in terms of a possible new relationship with the port.
This works will give an important input on the elaboration of LAP considering that the target area analyzed by the two trainings is just the one of the waterfront area and the lower city.
