CoNet Final Conference

During the CoNet Final Conference on 31st March 2011 in Berlin 100 participants from the 11 CoNet partner cities and associated Managing Authorities presented and exchanged results of the network. Lead Expert Prof. Dr. Rotraut Weeber elaborated the seven core tasks improving disadvantaged neighbourhoods outlined in CoNet's Guide to Social Cohesion that was presented at the Final Conference.

Marcin Bania and Dr. Anna Adamus-Matuszynska presented the case of Zabrze's Local Action Plan. Kim Griffiths explained integrated employment services in Liverpool and Bertil Nilsson integrated urban development in Malmö's District of Fosie.  Jean-Loup Drubigny, Director of the URBACT Secretariat outlined coming steps for the URBACT programme and Dr. Alexander Ferstl from the European Commission's DG Regio gave an overview on the discussion on EU cohesion policy for the next funding period 2014 to 2020.

On Friday 1st April CoNet partners had a chance to visit the Campus Rütli education project in the District of Neukölln and hear about the Neighbourhood Mothers an outreach project for immigrant families.
