Call for Urban Innovative Actions open !

25 February 2016The Directorate-General Regional and Urban Policy is pleased to announce that the first call of the Urban Innovative Actions initiative has been launched !
This call will be worth EUR 80 Mio in total and will be focused on the following four topics:
- Energy transition
- Urban Poverty (with a focus on deprived urban neighborhoods)
- The inclusion of migrants and refugees
- Jobs and skills in the local econom
The Urban Innovative Actions initiative has been created to test new approaches to the challenges faced by urban authorities. The total budget is EUR 371 Mio over the period 2015-2020. Projects will be selected through calls for proposals with an ERDF contribution which shall not exceed EUR 5 Mio per project, a unique co-financing rate of maximum 80% and duration of 3 years maximum.
Four information events will be held across the EU (Brussels, Riga, Rome and Krakow) in January/February 2016 to ensure that cities and relevant stakeholders are fully aware of the call.
You are strongly encouraged to attend one of the four Urban Innovative Actions information events which will be held across the EU (Brussels, Riga, Rome and Krakow) in January/February 2016. Whilst both the Brussels and Rome events are now full, there are still places available in Riga (20th January) and Krakow (3rd February).

These events are a unique opportunity in which the scope of the initiative and the detail of the 1st call will be fully explained. The event will also offer you the opportunity to interact with the UIA Secretariat and the European Commission in relation to any queries you may have.
