Building Healthy Communities: Third Thematic Workshop
Edited on
09 October 2017The third Thematic Workshop of the Building Healthy Communities URBACT Project will take place in Bacau in Romania from 30 September to 2 October 2010. The event will be focused on the Use of Structural Funds in developing "Health Gains" and on the Local Action Plans developed by the project Partners.
Health and health related issues have a deep impact on the quality of life of European citizens and this is especially true in cities where social and environmental health determinants become key factors for urban policies, often without a direct legal competence of the city government in these issues.
The Building Healthy Communities (BHC) project is looking for joint, effective and sustainable solutions to create opportunities for cities to shape healthy policies for their citizens. The network is made up of ten cities from seven EU member states and it received the Fast Track label by the European Commission.
The Workshop in Bacau is the last one of a set of three workshops. The previous events were focused on Indicators and Criteria for a Healthy Sustainable Urban Development and Healthy Sustainable Lifestyle.
