ON BOARD Eduprojects
Edited on
31 July 2019Halmstad meeting was critical in terms of setting the model for the Educational Innovation Network in each Transfer City. Each partner dedicated some time to reflect and understand how to adapt the structure and governance of the Educational Innovation Network in place in Viladecans to their own context considering: governance, scale and human and financial resources. Some reflection points were facilitated for participants to rely on. Work initiated in Halmstad continued in each city with the respective ULGs, and will be monitored and improved in the following transnational meeting.
In addition, and to facilitate the project start-up, all partners selected a number of pilot projects to mobilize local agents in the implementation of simple innovative projects. This is what we call Eduprojects.
Eduprojects are a series of education experiences of ON BOARD partners. They are part of a "basket of projects" ON BOARD partners are preparing so they can be shared and replicated in other cities to support them in the development of the Educational Innovation Networks.
What are the main criteria of those Eduprojects?
- They promote an integrative approach and co-responsibility of all education stakeholders are creating so they can be share.
- They incorporate technology and connectivity in the daily teaching-learning process.
- They create new collaboration relationships with non-school local agents.
- They build capacities of agents involved.
Let’s find out the selection of first ON BOARD Projects to be implemented as first Educational Innovation Network initiatives in each Transfer and Good Practice City:
Scientific Forum - Nantes (chosen by Halmstad and Viladecans)
The main goal of Scientific Forum project is to share a scientific culture between various local stakeholders: scientific associations, parents associations, mediators, social workers... through a 1,5 days event based in Sequoïa center, which is a scientific center situated in a disadvantaged district. PiGo is an entrepreneur & creative event, based on Pi (π, 3.14...) that gathers on 14/3, at 3:14 pm, with 3 + 14 speakers and each of them with 3 minutes and 14 seconds to make their pitch. All speakers are "heroes of the nation" that in that short space of time tell something that have marked their lives to inspire others. The project was born when students of marketing, communication & public relations of the academic year 2013/2014 of the Secondary School of Albergaria-a-Velha were aware of TEDx and Ignite Portugal events, both being over 18 years old and with a cost that many could not afford. The students decided to create an event that would inspire the general public and at zero cost.
Smart Brain - Halmstad (chosen by Viladecans, Albergaria, Nantes and Poznan)

It is increasingly evident that emotional stability of students is relevant for the teaching-learning processes. Students knowing how to react to their emotions and how to channel them towards their positive part may become an improvement factor, not only for their performance but also for their personal growth. The main objectives of Emotions project are: making the students learn to be aware of their emotions; making them understand their reactions and learn to change their emotional state out of specific actions; and involving families, because emotional responses also occur in the family environment. During the month, the educational institutions in Tallinn organize open lessons and events that promote the development and creativity of the learners. The lessons are targeted to different groups (students, teachers, parents and other interested) and they can participate in various practical activities.
Research project joint-mentoring - Viladecans (chosen by Tallinn)
Baccalaureate students must do a research project on a topic of their interest. Being able to do so with the help of some professional (from a company, hospital, institution, etc.) in the city makes it possible to get to know more about some subjects and, at the same time, the students have the opportunity to have a more direct experience of what they are studying. The company or organisation appoints an expert as a “referent” person, a mentor, for the student who monitors and helps him during the elaboration of the research project.
Folk for social - Tallinn (chosen by Halmstad)
The idea of the project is to develop bilingual education and dialogue between local minorities (in this case Estonian and Russian speaking kindergartens) through acting together and joining different cultural events. Children can learn to cooperate and value different cultural traditions, teacher’s language skills improve and parents are also involved in kindergarten activities through different events.
