B.1. Understanding of integrated and sustainable urban development:

I have graduated at the University of Economics in Bratislava, Slovakia, where I got also PhD. In my professional life, I worked at the Matej Bel University in Banska Bystrica, Slovakia at the Institute for Local and Regional Development for 10 years and from 1998 I have been working as an independent consultant and trainer mainly for local governments in strategy planning, participatory planning, marketing of areas and communitation with public.

B.2. Understanding of exchange and learning processes at transnational level:

During my University work, I attended several conferences in European countries with papers concerning local and regional development - e.g. local employment development, marketing of cities and regions, strategic planning of cities. During my consultation work, I have been leading an international Slovak - Norwegian project, and participated in Youth in Action and Erasmus+ workshops and trainings in three European countries.

I have been communicating in English during international projects, at the international conferences, workshops and trainings. I have been writing project reports and conference papers in English.

Summary Thematic expertise:

During my 10-years University Carrier at the Matej Bel University in Slovakia, I designed a course Marketign of Areas which I was teaching. A part of it is communicating with public. This is a crucial point of good governance - to do it with public. During my independent carrier as a consultant an trainer, I have been consulting or training local governments and other target groups in these topics. Together with an co-author Anna Vanova, we wrote two books: Marketing of Areas I (Marketing for Local Governments) and II (Communitation with Public). I also edited and wrote parts of books: Communication in turn of Centuries, Public Relations for Local Governments and wrote a text book for university students: Marketing of Areas. I prepared several Marketing Studies for regions or regional products/services.

E.1. Knowledge on participatory methods and tools for co-production and implementation of local polices :

As an independent consultant, and as a team member I have been working on about 40 Strategic Development Plans for Cities, Villages and regions, concerning general develoment of cities, or specific sectors as education, entrepreneurship and SMEs, communitation with public, tourism, sports. I emphasize participatory planning with stakeholders and public. During the planning process, I facilitate group meetings, surveys, public discussions and participatory activities involving children and adults in the planning process.

E.2. Knowledge on integrated approach for the design, delivering, monitoring and evaluation of urban strategies/policies:

During the planning proces, the monitoring tools should be prepared. A part of strategies I used to prepare for cities, villages or regions, are measurable aims, and indicators to measure outputs, results, impact. Personally, I proceeded a monitoring for the Educational Development Programme in Banská Bystrica city.

E.3. Awareness of the main policy and funding schemes for sustainable urban development at EU and national level:

I follow experts, organizations and institutions on social media, download publications, meet with experts and follow websites informing about funding schemes. I distribute information as much as possible further, through social media and e-mails.

E.4. Ability to understand specific local situations and adapt tools and content to different local realities:

To prepare strategies at local level, I always facilitate group sessions to learn about strenghts, weaknesses in the specific policy with stakeholders and public. We produce problem analysis together. Also, a situation analysis based on the facts and data is prepared. We compare the inner situation with trends and external influences. After that, the planning process follows.
