Become a partner in a new URBACT II project

Within the framework of the second URBACT II call for proposals PDF icon Download List_of_the_URBACT_II_projects_approved_by_the_Monitoring_Committee_on_November_241_1_.pdf (148.56 KB) have been approved by the URBACT II Monitoring Committee on November 24th 2009. These new URBACT II projects will now begin the Development Phase and will complete their partnerships. Take your chance!

New URBACT II Projects have to complete their partnership during the Development Phase

The development Phase will last 6 months for the Thematic Networks and 4 months for the Working Groups. New URBACT II project have to complete their partnership during this period. The Thematic Networks, initially composed of 5 partners, are seeking for 3 to 7 new partners in order to complete their partnerships. The Working Groups, composed for the Development Phase of 4 partners, have to find for the implementation phase 2 to 4 new partners.

Please note that these projects have to take account of the need to strike a balance between European regions with competitiveness-oriented objectives and those with convergence-oriented objectives. The Project partners must come from three different countries. One or two cities acting as observers may also be added (from outside Member States or Partner States).

Who can be a partner in an URBACT II project?

  • Cities (municipalities and agglomerations)
  • Regions (where urban issues are involved)
  • Universities and research institutions (where urban issues are involved)
  • Other partners (generally at their own expense): national and transnational city associations, the private sector

Partners must come from one of the 27 European Union Member States, Norway or Switzerland (partner states). Partners from other countries can participate at their own expense.
