On the 15th of December the ULG members of Amadora held their 6th Local Action Group.

The meeting was attended by representatives of local organizations and the High Commissioner for Migrations. As previously agreed, the meeting was focused on the analysis, monitoring and revision of the existing Municipal Plan for the Integration of Immigrants (2015/2017). The MPII has four main strategic areas: Welcome and Integration Services; Employement, Education and capacity Building; Culture and Citizenship; Media and Public Opinion Awareness. All the main areas of the Plan were analysed, including the objectives, actions, goals and timetable. In order to improve the Municipal Plan the partners agreed that it should be included in the Welcome and Integration Services area, objectives and measures specifically to address the refugee’s needs. The reviewed Municipal Plan for the Integration of Immigrants (2017) will be presented to the organizations of the Social Network of Amadora (that brink together about 76 local organizations) and constitute the basis for the next MPII that will be built by the Amadora URBACT Local Group.
