24 June 2019Is you city barrier-free? Do you have strategies and actions that make it a better place for everyone? Showcase your work on accessibility by sending your application for Access City Award.
EU cities are invited to participate in the fifth edition of the Access City Award - The European Prize for making cities more accessible to people with disabilities and older people. The prize recognizes and celebrates cities for their efforts to make it easier for disabled and older people to gain access to public areas such as housing, children’s play areas, public transport or communication technologies. The Award is part of the EU's wider efforts to create a barrier-free Europe: improved accessibility brings lasting economic and social benefits to cities, especially in the context of demographic ageing. Your initiatives can inspire other cities to improve their policy and activities in the field of accessibility. As in previous years, the outcome of the Access City Award 2014 and the winning cities are presented in a brochure. You can use it to see which projects can be highlighted in your application or can inspire you to start new projects to improve accessibility in your cities. Cities with at least 50,000 inhabitants have until 10 September 2014 to submit their entries for the award. If you want to know more about the prize, please consult the guidelines and the participation rules, available in all EU languages.
